About 1 Hour ago Namepros.com, One of the largest Domaining Forums on the net, went down. First, users started to get Database errors and then the entire server went down for about 30-45 mins then it started coming back up. At first when it came back up there was only about 40 member on the forum and I was the only one in chat for a few minutes.

NamePros is back up now and you might get a database error which can be fixed with a refresh of the screen.

When you buy a domain, if you are a reseller then you main goal is to resell the domain and make extra money to buy new domains and flip them for more money. This is a process many resellers goes through and some are very good at it. But How did the become good at it.

Some say its all in time and learning the tricks of the trade, some may say they got lucky and hit the jackpot. I fear if you are one who says this you are wrong. You can have a crappy domain and still sell it for more then the real value should be when you sell it. The value of a domain is no determined always by what you put on the site, How much content it is, quality either. Sometime Keywords sell a domain others not so much.

Let me ask you a question, How did google become so big in the quest to become to best? Easy they started work and doing more to get the name out to the public. Yes, I said it, advertisement sells a domain. If you only list your domain at 1 site for sale then you will get bad offers and results back. but If you advertise the domain around get some back links over time and maybe put a website on it for some time just to have content and spiders indexing your site. Your domain will do better in the sell process vs buy it wait 1-2 week and resell. If you hold that domain for 3 months and activity promote the domain the website and post it for sale at more then 1-2 sites, Your offer will be higher, your success will be higher and people will start to recognize you as a long term developer seller. you will gain friends that want to know how you do it. You will gain independence. Your money will be better spent. Domaining for the most part is not a get rich fast scheme. yes, some have became billionaires overnight. But unfortuantly your fate will not be the same because the domain that sell high are mostly over sold or taken for the moment.

How to Profit from a Domain the most?

Buy 1 develope it over atleast 3 months.

Advertise it for sell over many networks instead of just 1-2

Start doing this on a regular basis and your profits will be higher then what you are loosing.

Don’t be afraid to register more then 1 domain at a time, but develope 1 at a time.

Have unique content on the site and let Google make your profit higher.

Don’t sell on the first offers, leave open on the market for a few weeks and see your offers. Your not in a hurry to sell. Keep Developing the website and domain.

How well do you know your domains? Is it good enough to get a good price on them when you are trying to sell them?You need to know all your domains even if you have a large portfolio. You need to to know when someone ask about a niche domain if you have a domain that fits in that niche.

When you have a large portfolio your are like a store owner, You have to know the products you carry in your store so you can make a clean sale and make some money for that day. You will not sell if you say, I am not sure if we carry something like that let me look for a second. If you have to look though 2000+ domains on a few registrars its going to take a moment then you take a chance of not making the sale, or missing that domain and saying you don’t have one. I try to keep a list of my domains I am selling on my desktop in a simple notepad. That’s the easiest way I have found that i can keep up with them and make a positive look from other asking if I have a Domain.

When being a domainer how people look at you is what it’s about. If people look down at you they will not come to you and ask for domains or other services. While If they look to you as a leader in the industry or a good friend, they will come to you first. When knowing your domains and knowing what price you can put on them you will make more sales then someone that has to look through all the domains.

Now, since I got that out of the way let me continue with this. If you have a large portfolio that doesn’t mean that you are a great domainer, that just means you have bought up a bunch of domains that might be worth a dollar or two. I do research on domains I am about to buy. If they was registered before, if they have an archive, do they get traffic, do they have pr, alexa rank? that some things you need to know about your domains. I would suggest that you need to know all of this before you buy a domain. On top of that, do you have a good portfolio or not?

My portfolio is listed on here under domains its page and feel free to check it out anytime. most of my domains are crap domains and I don’t look to sell them off for 200+ dollars. But, if someone wants the domain really bad offer me $200 and see how fast you get it pushed to your account. I am all the time buying and selling so new things will come in everyday almost.

You know when you buy a domain name you think its going to be good? Right, it may not sell for as much as you was hoping to get out of it. When You find a Available domain to register and you want to know how much it will sell for. Don’t go ask someone on a forum or another domainer. You might not find it available anymore. How Do I check if i have a valuable domain to register? Easy check google, if I wanted to register HotelDiscounts.com and I didnt know if it was a good domain. I would go to google and type in (”Hotel Discounts”) without the ( ) and see how many results I got back. Then you will know if you have a good domain or not. Sometimes you can by pass that and sell the domain for $$$ even if it has no returns on Google. Just Buy the domain and try to get it out in the market. Don’t be shy, there is no tomorrow. Domain market is not high right now? Who said that domains have a market, we sell and buy but a market is still developing. Should I buy domains because of PR? You can but I would not suggest it. Wordpress has released it new version of wordpress blog. Which is good because many domainers use wordpress and many use it as a portal or website for the domains.

Traffic, the private forum has closed because some drama from inside. Thats nice but the only ones that are effected are the ones that were (was) members fo the forum. So With that said, maybe it will be closed forever or it might open again.

Do you have allot of domains? Do you need somwhere to list thm in categorys? You can get that from SecondVision. He is a coer that made a Wordpress type script that holds your domains and You can list them for viewers to see and Buy.

The script is free this is version 1.0 and its easy to set up. THe admin Section of the Script is easy to access and easy to use. You add your domains and list for sale, offer, or not forsale and You can link your website to them. So people can buy the entire website.

The script has been out for a few months that I know of but gaining popularity from domainers.

Domain Estimators like DNScoop & EstBot do not work, They have poor resource to coming up with values of websites. If You do use one of the two I suggest you use Estibot.com is faster and is gives you the stats of a domain name which is what you need to base a sale price on. DnScoop is more of just a showing site. I would not Suggest you try to sell it from the price is gives you.

You can find 100 more if you search the web and most all of them are going to give you different prices and stats that might be incorrect but many sources are better then none. I think the best esitmate you can get it asking someone but they have to know the niche of that domain and the stats to base a good Price.

STOP, before you buy it see if thee is a market for it and if you can flip it to make more money from it. More and more domainers are buying these domains and finding out that its their loss when the market does not give what the paid for it.

I would suggest check out some sources and see if the domain has been dev before, beginning dev, ask the seller. “Did you try and develope the Domain?”. Check the Alexa rank, google stats and Archive.org for developement. Try for Estibot.com to get a idea of what the stats are.
